Picture Perfect - Infinite

One of the midnights, when I was reading a book, at the same time playing with my Roman numerals ring , suddenly I discovered something, thus tonight, I took out my camera and gave it a try.

I like both the love hearts that are being formed by simply shining the light onto the Roman Numerals 1-12 ring.  Try looking at it from various angles and you may find something different.

It is the ring of 12-months Love, which keeps going on and on and on ~~~ Infinity

INFINITE LOVE  无限的爱

Love Never Dies...
It has no starting point and no finishing line...
It is everlasting in one's mind...
Live Simply...Give Much...Expect Little...

Fill Your Finite Life With Infinite Love...

The Images of Mother

The Images of Mother

4  Years of Age  -  My Mommy can do anything!
8  Years of Age  -  My Mom knows a lot! A whole lot!
12 Years of Age  -  My Mother doesn't really know quite everything.
14 Years of Age  -  Naturally, Mother doesn't know that, either!
16 Years of Age  -  Mother? She's hopelessly old-fashioned.
18 Years of Age  -  That old woman? She's way out of date!
25 Years of Age  -  Well, she might know a little bit about it.
35 Years of Age  -  Before we decide, let's get Mom's opinion.
45 Years of Age  -  Wonder what Mom would have thought about it?
65 Years of Age  -  Wish I could talk it over with Mom. . .

...Above does not represent my images of a Mother

Just Joking - BMW 05 - Battle of the Man and Woman

An English professor wrote the following words on the blackboard and directed the students to punctuate it correctly:

"WOMAN WITHOUT HER MAN IS NOTHING"

The men wrote:
"Woman, WITHOUT HER MAN, is nothing."

The women wrote:
"WOMAN!! WITHOUT HER, man is nothing!"

Beauty of a Woman

Beauty of a Woman

The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears,
The figure she carries, or the way she combs her hair.

The beauty of a woman must be seen from her eyes,
Because that is the doorway to her heart,
The place where love resides.

The beauty of a woman is not in a facial mole,
But true beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul.

It is the caring that she lovingly gives,
The passion that she shows.

The beauty of a woman,
With time, only grows…

Whoever finds Klim, please love her

I am very very sad...I lose one of my Klim...

The train journey from my place to office takes about an hour, thus usually I will do one or some of the following during the long journey : Take a nap, Read a book, Listen to music, Scribble some notes

Yesterday morning, I did the last 3, listening to music, reading the book "The Mystical Life of Jesus", and at the same time scribbling down some notes.

Probably too engrossed in what I was doing and did not aware that the train has nearly reached the station, thus quickly packed the stuff into the bag. I suspected that I did not clip the bookmark properly and it slipped out from the book and landed on the side of my seat.

There were still some people in the same train carriage when I was heading towards the exit door. I did see someone went to the place I was sitting just now, then returned back to her own seat, but I did not suspect anything. Only till in the evening, during the train journey back to home, then I realised my lovely bookmark was missing.

So I suspected that it must be that lady in the morning who picked up my lovely Klim and kept for herself instead of retuning her to me, when I was still inside the train.

I was really really upset for these 2 days. You might think how silly to cry over such small thing.

Well, she's so elegant, handy and lovely. I bought her from AAE few months ago. Since then, she has been accompanying me day and night together with the various story books. I loved her so much ....

无论是任何东西,任何人,用久了,认识久了,多多少少都会有感情的。

sigh...

There is nothing I can do. I don't blame that lady for her dishonesty, all I have to blame is myself for such carelessness. I can only say that the bookmark must be really so lovely that whoever picks her up sure will keep her for own use instead of returning to the owner.

I just hope that whoever picks her, please love her and take good care of her...

Book - When GOD Winks

I was reading this book “when GOD Winks” by SQuire Rushnell, about coincidence, which I find it quite interesting and inspiring. Thus would like to share with all of you.  Specially dedicate to one of my friend (if you have a chance to read my post, you know who you are).

Co-in-ci-dence
A sequence of events that although accidental seems to have been planned or arranged.
Wink
To give a signal or express a message.
God Wink
A personal signal or message, directly from a higher power, usually, but not always, in the form of a coincidence.

In one of the Chapters “Trust In Your Dreams and Possibilities”, the author mentioned that all things are possible, it is true only when you believe it, and provided the following 10 step strategy to help mapping the best possible course on the highway to your destiny.
Hereby I briefly list out the 10 Steps to Success:

1. See yourself succeeding!
Formulate a mental picture of yourself being successful.  Be as specific as possible.  Don’t let it fade.  Keep looking at it every day.  Your mind will try to complete what it pictures.

2. Cancel negative contractions - - can’t, won’t, don’t!
Whenever a negative contraction comes in mind, immediately cancel it out.  Focus on the picture you drew of yourself succeeding and say positively “I can! I will! I do!”

3. Deflate your obstacles and wipe away trouble!
When your obstacles seem fearfully large and looming, let the air out of them.  When a problem arises, deal with it in an unemotional rational way.  Refuse to give it any more power than it deserves.

4. Don’t be awestruck by others – model them!
Try to learn from and emulate the strengths you see in others.  Instead of viewing their accomplishment as a reflection on your lack of achievement, use them as a model for your own success.

5. Find a coach!
Enlist the help of someone with whom you can entrust your self-doubts.  By asking them to help you bring your inner ghosts of inferiority to the surface, you will see those doubts and slay them

6. Inventory what’s good about you!
Trust in yourself and the things about you that are desirable and valuable to others.  Formulate a nonegoistic yet confident inner love for your own talents and attributes.

7. Perceive yourself as you wish others to perceive you!
Your very own actions will cue others to the perceptions you wish to have them hold of you.

8. Get the “Imp” out of impossible!
Instead, read it as “I’m possible!”.  Be getting off your duff and taking small steps, every goal can be reached no matter how difficult it appears.

9. Let go, and let God!
You have a powerful ally in every challenge you face.  Loosen the grip on those fears.

10. Look for God Winks!
The highway to what you believe to be your destiny may occasionally seem dark and lonely.  But you never be alone.  Get going and starting looking for the confirming signs that you are on the right path.  You’ll soon see the God Winks.

As you journey to your destiny, you will occasionally find yourself at the crossroads in your career. Might be an unexpected opportunity that boost your career, or something that propels your livelihood to the very brink of disaster.

Regardless of the circumstances, you will feel uncertain. And until your feelings of uncertainty can be converted into certainty, you will go through a period of discomfort.

Start looking for the guideposts that are sure to appear along your path. They will be there. You just need to look for them.

Picture Perfect - Shadow

Picture Perfect 2008/#08
Theme : Shadow
Camera : Canon IXUS i
Date Taken : 2007 Sep

I was on a plane.  I had watched all those movies I liked, had read finish my story book, had finished the cup of "Singapore Sling" and packet of nuts but could not sleep, and feeling bore, thus took out the camera and played with it.

For so many years, have been thinking:
- Who am I?
- Why am I so restless and always rushing?
- Why am I working day and night, till no daylight?
- Why am I flying here and there, till no where?

- Why am I always living in the dark shadow?
- Where is the spot of light that can lead me to the final destiny?
- What do I really want?
- What's my real mission of the journey to this world?

After an incident in 1996, which I nearly entered the gate of Heaven, God saved me and I survived, I slowly started
- to search  for the reality of my own life;

- to find the tiny spot of light in the shadow to break through the darkness;
- to realise how to handle life, situation, people, or anything...

Basically, just 2 simple words :

"Put Down"   “放下”
May All Find Your Own Light in the Dark Shadow !

Ang Ku Kueh, Chinese 红龟糕 known as Red Tortoise Cake (literally translated from Hokkien), is one of the common Chinese/Nonya pastries found in Singapore.

As the name says, basically it is shaped like the shell of a tortoise because it was believed then, that eating these long-living creatures would bring longevity to the person eating it.  The traditional Ang Ku Kueh has fillings like grounded peanuts, salty bean paste and green bean paste.

A good Ang Ku Kueh is one where the skin does not stick to the teeth and gives a good chewy feeling.  The fillings should be smooth, mixed very well with the skin and should not obstruct the chewy feeling.

Basically the skin of the Ang Ku Kueh is made from glutinous rice flour.

Dough is made from it and the fillings is put in before it is rolled into a large ball.

The ball is pressed into a mould to create the "look" akin to a tortoise shell.

The whole batch is steamed to create Ang Ku Kueh.

Usually, Ang Ku Kueh is a must when there’s a temple celebration, or some celebrations in the home, especially for prayers to the Deities.

When someone’s baby has reached one-month old, Ang Ku Kueh is one of the spread of goodies given to relatives and friends who have given gifts within the one month of the baby’s birth.

I C E ( In Case of Emergency )

I C E ( In Case of Emergency )

I cannot remember when and where I read something similar to the following regarding this ICE concept. Anyway I personally think that this is very true especially nowadays each of us at least own one mobile phone, thus would like to share this with everyone.

We all carry our mobile phones with names & numbers stored in its memory but nobody, other than ourselves, knows which of these numbers belong to our closest family or friends. If we were to be involved in an accident or were taken ill, the people attending us would have our mobile phone but wouldn't know who to call.

Yes, there are hundreds of numbers stored but which one is the contact person in case of an emergency? Hence this "ICE" (In Case of Emergency) Campaign

The concept of "ICE" is catching on quickly. It is a method of contact during emergency situations. As cell (mobile) phones are carried by the majority of the population, all you need to do is store the number of a contact person or persons who should be contacted during emergency under the name "ICE" (In Case Of Emergency).

The idea was thought up by a paramedic who found that when he went to the scenes of accidents, there were always mobile phones with patients, but they did not know which number to call. He therefore thought that it would be a good idea if there was a nationally recognized name for this purpose.

In an emergency situation, Emergency Service personnel and hospital Staff would be able to quickly contact the right person by simply dialling the number you have stored as "ICE."

For more than one contact name simply enter ICE1, ICE2 and ICE3 etc. A great idea that will make a difference!

Let's spread the concept of ICE by storing an ICE number in our Mobile phones today!

It really could save your life, or put a loved one's mind at rest. ICE will speak for you when you are not able to.

Just Joking - Test for Dementia

Below are four questions and a bonus question.  You have to answer them instantly.  You can't take your time, answer all of them immediately, and no cheating, OK?
Let's find out just how clever you really are....
Ready? GO!!! (scroll down)

First Question:
You are participating in a race.  You overtake the second person.  What position are you in?

Answer:
If you answered that you are first, then you are absolutely wrong!  If you overtake the second person and you take his place, you are second!

Try not to screw up next time.  Now answer the second question, but don't take as much time as you took for the first question OK?

Second Question:
If you overtake the last person, then you are...?

Answer:
If you answered that you are second to last, then you are wrong again.  Tell me, how can you overtake the LAST person?

You're not very good at this, are you?

Third Question:
Very tricky arithmetic!
Note: This must be done in your head only.  Do NOT use paper and pencil or a calculator. Try it.

Take 1000 and add 40 to it.  Now add another 1000.  Now add 30.  Add another 1000.  Now add 20.  Now add another 1000.  Now add 10 .  What is the total?

Answer:
Did you get 5000? The correct answer is actually 4100.

If you don't believe it, check it with a calculator!
Today is definitely not your day, is it?  Maybe you'll get the last question right... Maybe.

Fourth Question:
Mary's father has five daughters: 1. Nana, 2. Nene, 3. Nini, 4. Nono.  What is the name of the fifth daughter?

Answer:
Did you Answer Nunu? No! Of course it isn't Her name is Mary. Read the question again!

Okay, now the Bonus round:

A mute person goes into a shop and wants to buy a toothbrush.  By imitating the action of brushing his teeth, he successfully expresses himself to the shopkeeper and the purchase is done.

Next, a blind man comes into the shop who wants to buy a pair of sunglasses.  How does he indicate what he wants?

Answer:
He just has to open his mouth and ask...
It's is really simple.

Have a Nice Day Everyone!

Picture Perfect - Water

 Picture Perfect 2008/#06

We live on a planet that is dominated by water.  More than 70% of the Earth's surface is covered with this water.  Water is also essential for life.  Without water, life would probably never have developed on our planet.

The water resources of Singapore are especially precious given the small amount of land and territory in Singapore's geography while having a large urban population in the city-state.

Without natural freshwater rivers and lakes, the primary domestic source of water in Singapore is rainfall, collected in reservoirs or water catchment areas.

Rainfall supplies approximately 50% of Singapore's water; the remainder is mainly imported from Malaysia.

We consume 300 million gallons of water per day.

In few years’ time, i.e. Year 2012, on the demand side, we will be consuming one third more than what we are consuming now.

On the supply side, the expiry of the 1961 Agreement in 2011 will reduce water supply from Malaysia.

We need to get ourselves prepared by then.  More catchment areas, facilities to recycle water (producing NEWater) or desalination plants are being built.

Singapore will then have a total of four big national taps, which the water coming out from each and every one of these four taps is of equally good quality.  This "four tap" strategy aims to reduce reliance on foreign supply and to diversify its water sources.

NEWater is the brand name given to reclaimed water produced by
Singapore's Public Utilities Board (PUB).

More specifically, it is treated wastewater (sewage) that has been purified using dual-membrane (via microfiltration and reverse osmosis) and ultraviolet technologies, in addition to conventional water treatment processes.

The water is potable and is consumed by humans, but is mostly used for industry requiring high purity water.
