Picture Perfect - House and Home

Picture Perfect 2008/#05
Theme : House and Home
Camera : Canon IXUS I
Date Taken : 2007 Dec

For many people, this theme might be too easy for them, but definitely it is not that easy to me.  Initially, thought of skipping this week theme, but finally I decided to go for it, thus, so sorry at this real last minute.

Nowadays,
We
have Bigger Houses, but Smaller Families.
We have
Finer Houses, but Broken Homes.

We can buy Beautiful Houses, but not Loving Homes.

I don't have a House where my Home belongs.
I am just staying at somewhere I can put my belongings and take a rest.
I don't have a Home able to keep me in the House.
I am just staying with someone very close to me yet feel so far.
I used to be a latchkey kid, an instant noodle kid.
I am not close to my parents, we don't talk, we just nod.
I am not close to my brothers, we don't talk, we quarrel.
For many years, I
hardly speak more than a thousand sentences each year, as I think I
have lost the technique of pouring words from my mouth.

I don’t have a House which I consider as a House
I don’t have a Home which I consider as a Home
Thus I can’t show you my Beautiful House
And I can't show you my Loving Home
What I can show you, is my Key to My Dreamland House
To Unlock the Happiness n Build Dreams of My Own

Some of you might have seen her already.  She's one of my Baby Dreams which I bought from AdoptAnEarring.
A necklace with a painted wooden house and an antique gold key attached. Very simple, lovely, yet very meaningful to me.

  19. Thanks Anty.
Not only mine, I do hope everybody's dreams may come true too...
Yes, indeed whole necklace is very unique. Becos of the uniqueness, that's why I am crazy over them n keep buying nonstop... many of them are solely just 1 piece exclusive, even remake may end up slightly different as all are handmade, not off-the-shelf stuff.

  42. No wonder this was hard for you, you took it serious. Your writing is so touching. My sons were latchkey kids and when my youngest was in elementary school he lost is key about once a week. I was so worried that anybody could walk in our apartment any time. We weren't very close then, but as he got older I had to work less and so got to be home more. I know I'm probably too easy on both of my sons sometimes, but I feel so guilty for having to leave them home alone so much. Compared to your story though I guess I didn't do too bad with what I had to work with. My boys and I are very close now.

You've had a rough life it sounds like, but it has given you a gift. That is how I always try to look at my past. Hard times make us more understanding of others when they are going through them, and more aware of why someone might not be as nice to us as we'd expect - maybe they're having a really bad time too.

Hold on to your dream. I was 35 and single with 2 children when I bought my first house. If I can do it, I know you can too. Even before you buy a house hopefully you can get an apartment that you can call your own.

  43. Very poignant and powerful. I wish for you that whatever it is you dream about materializes some day. In the meantime, keep on dreaming because dreams are the pathways to our inner souls. A person's dreams can give a sense of direction in life.
By the way, your house and key necklace is beautiful.

  45. First of all, thanks so much for visiting my take and I'm so grateful to read the words you posted here and to see the precious necklace of yours. I have just moved to a new place in the middle of a flood yesterday (it had been raining cats and dogs for more than 12 hours before I moved out from the old place) and it was not a nice experience to me. Luckily the new place is safe and better than the old one. What you shared here is something I need right now - thanks so much! Have a great weekend!

  47. I would like to answer in french to say exactly what I think... and how I can understand what you're wrinting there!
The advantage now is that you can feel free to go wherever you want without leaving anything behind... and I imagine someday you'll have a home and links and you'll rule freedom for love and responsibility... you'll always be "homeward bound"...

  48. Hope you're well and someday find that dream home.
